I am so very excited to finally say that my HUGE granny stripe blanket is finished! Here it is, in all it's stripey glory...
I followed Lucy from Attic24's pattern, and what a wonderful pattern it was! Perfect for curling up and watching TV with. I chained 300 to begin and added a black granny edging. The blanket hangs off the side of a queen size mattress, and while I originally planned for it to be a picnic blanket, I quite like how it looks as a bedspread. It took me just over 6 months to complete it and while I'm happy with the result, I think this is the last giant blanket I work on in a while. I've already started working on another blanket, the Wool-Eater for Sarah London's Crochet-a-long. I had already planned two other blankets to use up the ridiculous amount of yarn I've gathered, but this pattern seems perfect for using up all of those odd balls.
I am loving the pattern so far, and it's so nice to pick colours at random rather than follow a scheme. It's happy craft time all around here for 2012 so far.
