Secret (crafty) Santa

This is one of my secret handmade Christmas gifts. It's a Pixel People Big Bang Theory cross stitch for my parents. I bought the pattern from Wee Little Stitches, and couldn't be happier with how it turned out! This is before ironing and framing, so keep in mind that it will look much better when my parents open their gift. I'm pretty sure my secret is safe here as my they don't read my blog (yet).

Dudley Dursley

Aunt Petunia often said that Dudley looked like a baby angel - Harry often said that Dudley looked like a pig in a wig.

Introducing Dudley Dursley! My first finished object using a pattern from Knitting Mochimochi, which you can buy here. I'm not gonna lie, I wanted to make him because of the line from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Here is a bonus picture of Monty helping out with Dudley.

Busy town

I've been very busy over the past week with work, crafting and life in general so I haven't had time to share as much this past week. My Christmas crafting endeavors are well on their way. I've been working on some Granny bunting using the tutorials here and here, while listening to some Christmas tunes.

In all the busy times, I've been making time to read! The new Cassandra Clare novel, Clockwork Prince, is out, and I'm loving it. The Princess Bride is another book I'm reading, I took a photo because it's not everyday that you read a book that matches your bedspread.

Some other things I've been loving this week are:

Handmade Romance's super sweet panda amigurumi.
No Knit Sherlock's adorable Christmas owls made from this pattern. There are more details on Ravelry.
This wonderful, cheery video, via the JustB facebook page...

I cannot watch this video without smiling!

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas

Well, any Christmas, really. I've been getting into the Christmas spirit quite a bit lately. Nearly all of my shopping is done and the presents are wrapped, which means I have more time to focus on the Christmas craft. I knitted a Tiny Santa and Snowman with patterns from Mochimochi Land.

Although I used a heavier weight yarn than recommended they still turned out small (they fit into the palm of my hand!) and super cute. I've also packed up the amigurumi giraffe and dinosaur I made for Softies for Mirabel ready to mail Monday.

Christmas is also a great time for food, so I've been planning to try out some new recipes to share with family and friends this Christmas. Here is the first experiment, Cinnamon Nutella Cake. My attempt turned out a tad burnt, but still delicious.

For now it's back to making and baking while listening to some Christmas Carols.
